TV ratings of Olympiad surpassed forecasts
TV ratings of XX Winter Olympiad have surpassed all expectations in countries of Europe, North America, Japan and Australia, informed press-service of International Olympic Commission. The leader of this rating is USA with 140 million audience following the course of Olympic Games.
Different countries are interested in competitions, where their co-patriots pretend for awards. So Italians watched the victory of luger Armin Zoeggeler closely, Germans - the heat of speed skaters for 3000 meters among women, and French - the competitions of figure-skaters.
It is curious that Olympiad is popular in Japan and even Australia despite the fact that sportsmen from these countries are candidates for award in limited kinds of program.
