Union of Krasnodar krai and Adygei undecided
Aleksandr Tkachev and Hazret Sovmen - heads of Kransnodar krai and Adygei republic - announced that regions will not be united.
The announcement was made during first joint congress of Krasnodar and Adygei departments of "United Russia" political party in Adygei capital Maikop. Aleksandr Tkachev had nothing to object to Hazret Sovmen`s statements that the idea of union is unfounded and speculation with Adygei is unacceptable.
By words of Krasnodar governor, speculations of any kind should be suppressed. Instead of conversations about union real work for merger should be intensified.
At the same moment Aleksandr Tkachev was the initiator of Adygei and Krasnodar merger in December of 2004. Reaction of Adygei was negative, Hazret Sovmen called Tkachev`s suggestion the political mistake.
As a result the governor of Krasnodar krai was forced to refuse from his plan despite of support from Adygei Slavs. Though several participants of Maikop congress announced that conclusions about Tkachev`s refusal from the idea of regional merger are hasty.
