St. Petersburg "Yavara-Neva" won European judo cup
Competition for European judo cup came to the end in Tallinn on Saturday, October, 15.
The winners were sportsmen of St. Petersburg team "Yavara-Neva".
After series of elimination matches (preliminary rounds started in spring) four teams came to final rounds from 16 participant teams. Russian teams were among best: thrice-repeated of this cup "Yarava-Neva" and Moscow team "Sambo-70" (bronze winner of the cup 2004).
At semi-final meetings sportsmen of "Yavara-Neva" won over Turkish "Istanbul" with score 9:4 and "Sambo-70" lost in the round with German "Abensberg" with score 6:8.
In decisive match judoists of "Yavara" met "Abensberg" - peculiar team of Europe and won a victory with score 9:4. Russian sports club became owner of Europe cup the fourth time.
