Traffic lights will lose one signal forever
Blinking green signal of traffic lights becomes a thing of the past. Department of communications of Duma in Riga decided to expel it.
Lettish officials think that it would decrease number of accidents on the city streets.
This rule appeared many years ago: drivers were warned about immediate yellow light. It seemed that a driver would lower the speed beforehand. But in practice it was vice versa: drivers stepped on pedal but it was accelerator pedal to pass crossroads.
Some of them did not have time to leave crossroads so there were clashes. That is why there was the decision to expel this son of lumiere. That would be implemented gradually.
