Actual prototype of "Nautilus"
American researchers found submarine under water near San-Telmo island. It is supposed that this is the oldest submarine in history.
This submarine was constructed during USA Civil War. Despite the fact that submarine was built during war it was not used in military purposes. Supposedly, immediately after construction it was delivered to Panama where was used by pearls plungers.
At present moment it id dated by 1864. Found submarine named as Explorer is similar to "Nautilius" construction described by Julie Verne who wrote his book in 1866. It also has air lock-chamber to make journeys to sea bottom. There is a possibility that writing his book Julie Verne was interested in latest achievements in science and technics, therefore, he could know about Exploer construction.
