In Moscow, the Lenin Mausoleum is closed for maintenance works. For 2 months the inhabitants and guests of the city of Moscow will not be able to visit the tomb of the leader of the revolution.
"In connection with the execution of planned maintenance work in the period from 16 February to 16 April 2015 the Mausoleum of Vladimir Lenin will be closed to guests", - is told in the information news center on relationships with the press and the population of the Federal security service of Russia. Access for guests will be closed for 2 months.
Under the maintenance work is traditionally assumed operation of embalming, which is performed by the experts of the all-Russian University medicinal and aromatic plants. It is 1 every 2 years. According to some sources, after the body of the leader will be placed in a bath filled with a special substance, it is injected preservatives. Also, periodically, Lenin changed the costume.
On ordinary days, the Mausoleum is open from 10:00 to 13:00. Close the burial place for guests to group events on the red square or the period of carrying out of similar operations that continue for at least 2 months.
1st tomb was opened a week after the death of Lenin in 1924. Then the room was made of wood materials. To visit the tomb of the leader could only his relatives and tertiary control power. Later he built a new Mausoleum project designer Alexey Shchusev. 3, stone building was erected in 1930, in addition to project Shchusev and survived until our days.
