CPS: 800 consignments seized because of the embargo
The CPS since the introduction by Russia of a food embargo identified and seized about 800 parties are prohibited to import products, said at a press conference on Tuesday, the head of the sanitary Department Anna Popova.
The EU and the US amid deteriorating relations with the Russian Federation in connection with the situation in Ukraine in the summer of last year imposed a punishment against a number of sectors of the Russian economy. In response, Russia has restricted the import of food items from countries that have introduced in relation to penalties: USA, EU, Canada, Australia and Norway. A ban were beef, pork, poultry, sausages, fish, vegetables, fruits, dairy products and some other products.
"We shot 545 batches of products in the retail network. On the border was not allowed to import 254 batch total volume of 2, 5 million pounds, " said the head of Rospotrebnadzor.
According to Popova, from August 2014 was tested 24 thousand objects of trade on the subject of their Smoking products, and among them 20 thousand retail, 320 distribution centers, 750 markets and fairs. On violations issued fines totaling more than 70 million rubles.
