John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, 1892-1973) - British writer and scholar, born in South Africa. In 1937,
Tolkien, a professor of Anglo-Saxon and English literature at Oxford University, published a children's book called 'The Hobbit', where he was created a fantastic world populated by clever humanoid creatures. Later (in 1954-1956) published a trilogy of
