Surikov Vasily Ivanovich was born in Siberia. Life: January 24, 1848 - March 19, 1916. From 1869 to 1875 he studied at the Academy of Arts. In 1877 he moved to Moscow, having received an order for execution of murals in the Cathedral of Christ the Savior.
From 1881 to 1907 years was a member of the Association of Traveling Art Exhibitions. Later served in the Union of Russian Artists. Repeatedly traveled to Russia and Europe.
