(1776 - 1857)
Born in the village Karpovka Novgorod Province. The son of a serf, estate manager, Earl A. Munnich. Then the castle of Count II Morkov.
He studied at the Academy of Arts volnoprihodyaschim student (1799-1804) at the SS Shchukin. Revoked Carrot, the Academy did not graduate.
Lived in Ukraine in the village Kukavka Podolia, performing duties of a servant (1804-1812, 1818-1821).
He painted portraits, taught drawing and painting children graph and neighboring landowners.
In 1823 he received his freedom. From 1824 - Academician.
Since 1824 he lived in Moscow.
In 1843 was elected an honorary member of the Moscow Art Society.
Created an extensive gallery of portraits of contemporaries: Pushkin, K. Briullov etc.
