Born May 27, 1934 in Moscow. In 1958 he graduated from drama school named after B. Shchukin and began working at the Academic Theater Vakhtangov. In 1979 Vyacheslav Shalevich graduated from the Advanced Directing Courses at the State Institute of Theatrical Art (GITIS). In film actor began acting in 1958 and debuted Shvabrin role in the movie Alexander Pushkin's story "The Captain's Daughter". Interestingly, he showed himself in such diverse films, .
