Biography AMAD Jorge (AMADO Jorge)
Born in the town Ferradaz, grew up on a plantation of cocoa beans. He studied at the Jesuit college in El Salvador, then studied law at the University of Rio de Janeiro. His first novel, published in 20 years. In 1930 he began working as a journalist and at the same time carried away by politics and joined the Communists, the result of this interest was the election of Amado in the Brazilian parliament in 1946. In addition, for the radical views he regularly jailed or sent into exile, and many of his novels were banned in Brazil and in Portugal. In 1951, Amadou was awarded the International Lenin Prize. Currently, Jorge Amado - acknowledged classic of Brazilian literature.
