Biography Samoilovich (Sushchinskii) Danilo Samoilovich
(1744-1805 gg.) - An outstanding Russian physician-epidemiologist. In 1765, Mr.. Graduated from the hospital school at the Admiralty hospital in St. Petersburg, between 1769 and 1771 he. served in the army during the Russian-Turkish War. In 1771,. took part in the eradication of plague (pestilence) in Moscow, from 1784 g. participated in the fight against the epidemic of plague in southern Russia. Regarded as a plague samostoyatlnuyu nosological form. The first Russian authors gave a detailed description of the clinical course of plague, it has an orderly system for the time lost action. In defending the priority of domestic science, defended the right to write a medical thesis in Russian. He was elected a member of many foreign academies of sciences. Published a number of capital works on the plague, received widespread recognition, including "Traactatus de sectione symphyseos ossium pubis et partu caesareo" (Lugduni Batavorum, 1780). The significance of his research to date indicates the publication "Selected Works" of his works in two parts in 1949-1952, respectively.
