Born December 28, 1940. In 1962 he graduated from the Physics Department of Leningrad State University, in 1992 - the Diplomatic Academy of Russia.
Since 1962 he has been working in the State Optical Institute Vavilov. In 1990-93 - deputy of the RSFSR.
A member of the faction "Civil".
Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
He is married and has five children.
