Biography Ambrose (in the world Alexei I. Klyucharyov)
(1821 - 1901), son of archpriest. He graduated from the course at the Moscow Theological Academy, was on the faculty of Bethany Seminary and priest. In 1877 he was tonsured a monk and made vicar of the Moscow diocese. From 1882 - Archbishop of Kharkov. He founded and edited from 1860 to 1867 years of magazine edifying reading; actually ran the magazine, "Faith and Reason". In these publications, as well as in the Moscow Gazette placed many sermons A. on the socio-political themes. He passionately opposed the "false" direction of science, against the freedom of conscience, freedom of the press, women's education and t. n. He also owns the book "Living Word" (Kharkov, 1882), dedicated to the characteristics of a church sermon. In 1902 in Kharkov published "Complete Collection of sermons A.". - Wed.
