Biography August Bernhard R.
Born in 1852,. St. Petersburg. After graduating from the course of St. Petersburg. University's law school, he studied music theory in St. Petersburg. Conservatory under the guidance of Johannsen and Rimsky-Korsakov. He taught at the Conservatory harmony and solfege, then was an inspector from 1898 to 1905. - Director of the Conservatory. Translated into German a number of vocal works by Russian composers, . including operas: "May Night", . Snow Maiden, . "Tsar Saltan", . "Mozart and Salieri" by Rimsky-Korsakov, "Eugene Onegin" and "The Queen of Spades" by Tchaikovsky, "The Stone Guest Dargomyzhsky, . Went abroad, Bernhard completely away from the Russian musical life.
