Biography Kings Berthold (Damcke)
(1812 - 1875). From 1845 to 1855, Mr.. Kings lived in St. Petersburg, engaging in teaching piano, composition and music criticism, publishing articles in the St. Petersburg Gazette "(1857)," Library for Reading "(" Musical Memories ", 1850) and other journals. Later in Paris are enclosed in Russia. He was one of the closest friends and a fervent supporter of Berlioz. Posted oratorio "Deborah", choruses of "Faust" by Goethe, the opera "Katchen von Heilbronn", a series of piano pieces (some published in "Nuvelliste") and t. d. Kings - an experienced and knowledgeable, but little original and talented musician. Critical of his articles reflect his knowledge and fairly progressive views on art.
