Biography KAMENEV Gabriel P.
(1772 - 1803) By origin merchant, was born and lived in Kazan, under adverse conditions (not like trade, was unhappily married), only a brief visit to Moscow was to him lighter moments. Kamenev was in one of the private pensions, but their education is fully obliged himself. He placed the poems and translations in the "pleasant and useful pastime" (1794 - 99), "Muse," Ipokrene, News, Literature, and especially in the periodical of the free society, lovers of literature, sciences and arts "(1804). In the latter published his ballad "Gromval", sowed the first time in Russian literature of the romantic stream, and written, moreover, unusual then anapaest and dactyls. Kamenev belong to several translations of Kotzebue stories and letters about your stay in Moscow (1800), familiarity with Karamzin and other famous writers (in the almanac Vtorov: "Yesterday and Today", 1845, Part I). Kamenev's significance as the first Russian romantic first pointed out by Pushkin.
