Biography Kapkov Yakov Fyodorovich
1816 - 1854 son of a serf of Prince ms. Vorontsov. Original art education was under the direction of A. Egorova. Being released at the will of his master, he in 1832. entered the Academy of Arts, a retired social promotion of artists, and there was a student K. Bryullov. In 1842: for the painting "Death of Alcibiades" received a small gold medal, and in 1845, for the execution of the program "Siloam font" was awarded a large gold medal and title of the class artist XIV class. Shortly afterwards sent to Italy, Ranke, in 1849, owing to the then political circumstances, together with other Russian artists, was forced to return home. A secondary trip, according to circumstances, not used, and until his death lived in St. Petersburg. Beyond the above pictures Kapkova, worthy of mention: "Tatiana, reading her letter to Onegin," "Maria and Zarema" (in the Imperial Palace in Alexandria) and "Widow" (in the Moscow Public Museum). A.
