Biography Knyazhevich Dmitry Maksimovich
(1788 - 1844). Served on the Ministry of Finance. In 1837 he was appointed a trustee of the Odessa school district, reorganized the Richelieu Lyceum, founded the Society of History and Antiquities in Odessa and others. In 1809 - 1812 respectively placed in the periodical publications philological study of the synonyms of the Russian language. In 1820 - 1821, had issued "A gift at Christmas" (St. Petersburg). In 1822 he published "Complete Collection of Russian proverbs and sayings" (St. Petersburg). In 1822 and 1823 respectively he published "Library for Reading, which housed much of the then German translations of the best stories. In 1837 he was elected a member of Russia's Academy and participated in the works to compile a dictionary of Russian language. In 1839 and 1840 respectively issued two volumes under the title "The Odessa Almanac" and published "Novorossiysk Calendar.
