Got interested in astrology as a child after reading the almanac Zadkielya. Around 1900. B. Acquainted with the famous astrologer Alan Leo. In 1904. He began publishing astrological periodical "Destiny" ( "Fate") in Lincoln city, but this effort was not successful. Later he became editor of the British Journal of astrology and became one of the members of the Astrological Society of America.

B. best known for his research in the field of "prenatal period". He studied the prenatal period in hundreds of cases and came to his system, which is outlined in the book "The Prenatal Epoch" (1916).
