(Collins), Samuel Collins (1619, Breyntri, Essex - 26.10.1670, Paris)
In 1635, Mr.. adopted in Corpus Christi College in Cambridge, and subsequently received his doctorate in medicine at Padua, and in 1659, Mr.. enrolled in the number of doctors of medicine Oxford. In this work K. declares himself a supporter of medical astrology and philosophy, understood as a science combining knowledge of nature in its natural-scientific and theological aspects. In the treatise explains how the treatment of various peoples (Chinese, Indians, Iranians, Brazilians), gives the dates of astrological favorable to the bloodletting. This work to. is an important source for studying the history of astrology in Russia. S. also owns the book "Present State of Russia", describing his impressions of Russia (publ. in London in 1671).
