(1846-1901) Born March 17, 1846 in London. Kate Greenaway, Walter Crane and Randolph Koldkott regarded as founders of modern children's book illustration. The most typical creative Greenaway illustrations for the collection of her poems under the window (1878), made in the technique of color woodcuts. Charming face characters and decorative unity of illustrations and text resulted in widespread popularity of the artist's creativity. It is believed that the costumes of those illustrations, reminiscent of fashion in the early 19. Influenced the style of clothing for children in the Old and New World. Kate Greenaway died in Hempstead near London, 6 November 1901.
