Venustiano Carranza (Carranza Venustiano)

Born in Cuatro-Senegas December 29, 1859. He has held various positions in state government. In 1901, he was elected to the Senate. In 1910 he supported Francisco Madero, rebelled against the Porfirio Diaz. In 1913 led the fight against Victoriano Huerta. After the flight of Worth in 1914, Carranza became the interim president, and in 1917 was elected president under new constitution. Carranza managed to preserve the neutrality of Mexico during the First World War. Under the new constitution, the subsoil had been declared a national treasure, and the activities of foreign oil companies subject to state control. These measures, as well as raising taxes and fees have caused discontent with British and North American businesses. However, Carranza was unable to perform the promised agrarian reform program that led to the collapse of his authority. In 1920, Alvaro Obregon coup d'ц?tat. Carranza fled the capital in Veracruz, but the road was seized and shot in Tlakskalantongo (pc. Puebla) on 21 May 1920.
