Biography CODE Zoltan (Kodaly Zoltan)
(1882-1967) Born December 16, 1882 in Keshkemete. In his youth collaborated with BartцЁk, collecting folk music of Hungary, which has left a strong imprint on his composing activities. Hungarian Psalm (1923) to the words of the Fourth Psalm, written for the fiftieth anniversary of unification of Buda and Pest, the composer has brought international fame. The most popular orchestral composition Kodaly - Suite from the opera Hary Janos (Hry Janos, 1926). Also a composer and conductor's work, the code has successfully dealt with music critics and the reading public lectures. He collected folklore materials called the Hungarian folk music (A Magyar Nprzene Tara) were published in 4 volumes (1951-1956). Kodaly died in Budapest on March 6, 1967.
