(1879-1969) The most popular paintings, watercolors and oil paintings, Lindsay, and his book graphics. Norman Alfred William Lindsay was born on February 23, 1879 in Kresvike. His ability as an illustrator and cartoonist appeared quite early, and in 1901 he began to cooperate in the Sydney Gazette. Lindsay developed a romantic and original style of painting and drawing, resembling the style of British symbolists 1890, which mingled with his keen sense of humor. In 1910 the artist first visited in Paris and England, but remained indifferent to modernism.
In 1919, Lindsay wrote and illustrated became a popular children's book The Magic Pudding. Later, he created several comic novels and stories devoted to the life of Australian provincial towns. Norman Lindsay died in Sydney on Nov. 21, 1969.
