Biography MARTI Josö? Juliö?n
(1853-1895) Also, Josö? Juliö?n Martö´ Pö?rez (Marti y Perez) Born January 28, 1853 in Havana, in a family of Spanish immigrants. In 1870 he was sentenced to 6 months of corrective labor for participation in revolutionary activities. He studied philosophy and law in Madrid and the University of Zaragoza. Lived in France and Guatemala. In 1875 arrived in Mexico, in 1878 he returned to his homeland, but a year later was again deported to Spain to participate in the organization of the uprising. He lived in Venezuela, where he founded the magazine 'The Venezuelan Review' ( 'Revista Venezolana'). Later settled in New York. In 1892 he was elected leader of the Cuban Revolutionary Party, has launched activities for the preparation of a new uprising in Cuba. In 1895, Marty returned to his homeland and died in combat in the Oriente province in the plain Dos Rios May 19, 1895. Peru Marty owns numerous articles and essays on issues of literature, art, education, politics. In the famous essay, Our America (Nuestra Amrica) firmly established the historical and spiritual community of American nations. Most important part of the creative legacy Marty was lyric poetry.
