Biography Motschulsky Konstantin V.
(1892-1948) Born February 9, 1892 in Odessa, the family of Professor. He graduated from the historical-philological faculty of St. Petersburg University (1914). Since 1916 - associate professor at Petrograd University, since 1918 - Associate Professor of Novorossiysk University (Odessa). He emigrated in 1920: he lived at first in Bulgaria and taught at Sofia University, in 1922 he moved to France, where in 1924-1940 was reading courses at the Sorbonne on the history of Russian literature and philosophy. He taught at the Orthodox Theological Institute in Paris. Maintained close relations with Bulgakov and highly valued Sophiological developed by the latest trend in Russian religious philosophy. In his books about the fate of Russian writers (Gogol, Dostoevsky, Blok, Bely, and others) constantly turned to the problems of the philosophical content of their creativity and special philosophic native literary tradition. In the book of Vladimir Solovyov. Life and Teaching (1936) sought to address theoretical philosophy Vl.Soloveva in inseparable unity with a personal mystical experience and poetry thinker. Died in Moczulski Combo (France) 21 March 1948.
