Edmond Rostand (Rostand Edmond)

Slightly less success had Eaglet (L'Aiglon, 1900) - a poetic drama about the fate of Napoleon's son. In 1910 he was put satirical comedy Chauntecleer (Chantecler), the techniques used fables about animals.

Rostand has breathed new life into almost disappeared by the time the form - a poetic drama and romantic tragedy. A good choice of subjects, a masterly command of the language and prosody many contributed to its success, which was unable to shake a later critic. Pretty soon, the age of 33, Rostand was elected to the French Academy. Rostand died in Paris on December 2, 1918.
