Biography Anita (Anyte)
Anita, Anyte, from Tegei, ca. 300 g. BC. e., Greek poet. Author of 21 surviving epigrams (of which 20 are in the Palatine Anthology). We owe them one of the first bucolic descriptions of nature and the first gravestone epigrams animals (often humorous). The freshness of perception, pictorial images, a simple, clear style show as well as the talent, A., and possession of the beautiful poetic craft. She had a great influence on later epigrammatikov (among them Leonid of Tarentum).
