Palladium, rutile Taurus Aemilianus; Palladius, Rutilius Taurus Aemilianus, IV / V cc., Latin writer, an experienced farmer, who had landed property in Italy and in Sardinia. P. has written a practical guide entitled Agriculture (Opus agriculturae) in 15 books, in which he combined the information that is mostly borrowed from columella and Gargiliya Martial, with its own experience, not just by making adjustments to the sources. Kn. I - this introduction, general principles, the book. II-XIII describes the field and household work on the months of the year. First published in 1926. kn. XIV is devoted to diseases of livestock: horses, mules, sheep, goats and pigs. Book XV, under the title On the grafting of trees (De insitione) are spelled correctly elegiac distihom. Laconic this work and its practical way attracted to P. in the Middle Ages many readers, as evidenced by the manuscript. Language P., simple and devoid of rhetorical, identifies certain features of the national language.
