VASILIEV Pavel

VASILIEV Pavel (1910 - 1937), poet, essayist. Born December 12 (25 NS) in the city Zaisan in Kazakhstan in the family of a teacher, who comes from a Cossack environment.

In 1925 graduated from high school in Omsk and leaving Vladivostok, in order to continue teaching, but after a year spent in the swimming sailors, and then became a prospector in the gold mines on the Lena. Experience gained in these years, and impressions gained then became the basis on which were set up his first sketches and poems.

In 1927 in Novosibirsk have been published poems Vasilieva of notebooks of poems, which he brought with Lena goldfields. His books of essays "In gold exploration" and "People in the taiga," was released in 1930 in Moscow, where Vassiliev moved in 1928 and entered into Higher Literary Art Institute. V. Bryusov. Poetry Vasilyeva features lush language, similar folk-art song, and the use of folk motifs. Last Poem "Hristolyubovskie chintz", on which he worked in 1935 - 36. Was not finished and when the poet's life was not published (published in 1956).

In 1936, Vasiliev was illegally repressed. He was posthumously rehabilitated.
