Blagonravov Georgy

Blagonravov Georgy (April. 1895 Yegor'yevsk Ryazan province - 16.06.1938, Moscow), one of the leaders of public security, the Commissioner of Public Security of rank 1 (5.7.1936). The son of an employee. In 1915, drafted into the army, Lieutenant reserve regiment. In March 1917 joined RSDLP (b). In October. 1917 members of the Petrograd Military Revolutionary Committee, the commander of the Red Guard. On Nov.. 1917 Commandant of the fortress, with December. 1917 Extraordinary Commissioner of Petrograd. Since June 1918 a member of the Revolutionary Military Council of the Eastern Front. In November. 1918 transferred to the railway sub-unit of the Cheka. Since January. 1919 Instructor, Department of Transportation inspector Cheka. Since 1919, the beginning. transport Cheka in Petrograd, in August. 1919 while i.o. prev. Cheka. Involved in the organization of the Red Terror in the city. On Feb.. 1921 to October. Early 1931. Transport department of the Cheka (later the GPU and OGPU). Simultaneously Blagonravov served as early. Administrative Office of the People's Commissariat of Communications (1922-25), early. Economic Department of the OGPU (28.4.1925 - 17.2.1926), before. Board Rezintresta USSR Supreme Economic Council (1926-27), Deputy Commissar of Railways of the USSR (16.12.1929 - 21.9.1932). 21/9/1932 Blagonravov became the 1 st Vice. People's Commissar of Railways of the USSR, and led the Central Office 3/8/1935 roads and road transport with SNK (in fact, having the rank of the Commissariat). 27/3/1936 office was disbanded, and part of it transferred to the NKVD, where the Head Office building of highways NKVD. At its head raised all the same Blagonravov Since 1934 a candidate member of the Central Committee of the CPSU (b). 25/5/1937 arrested. 16/6/1938 sentenced to death. Shot. In 1956, rehabilitated.
