OLD Grigory Ivanovich

The old (real name - Borisov), Grigory Ivanovich (27.11.1880, village Bozneny Gangeshskoy parish Bessarabia province-11.10.1937), politician. The son of a railway. He worked in the Kiev railway workshops. In 1900 he joined the Social-democratic movement. Conducted party work in Kiev, Rostov, Nikolaev, Kremenchug, Mariupol, Poltava, Donbass. Repeatedly arrested. In December. 1905 participated in an armed uprising in Gorlovka. At the beginning of the 1-st World War drafted into the army. In 1917, a member of the Army Committee of the 11 Army. In 1918 joined the RKP (b). In the Jan.-Feb. 1918 Bender led the defense against the advancing Romanian troops. In 1918-21 led by the Communist guerrillas. Detachments occupied Romania of Bessarabia and Transnistria. In May 1919 raised the vendors in an armed uprising that was crushed. Since 1921 - at the party work in the Ukraine.
