Biography YORK von Wartenburg Peter (Yorck fon Wartenburg)
York von Wartenburg, Peter (Yorck fon Wartenburg), (1903-1944), participant in the conspiracy against Hitler. Born November 13, 1903 in Klein-Else (now Oleе?nica, Poland), great-grandson of the hero of the Napoleonic Wars by General Hans Ludwig von Wartenburg York. Graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Bonn. He held various government posts in Breslau and Berlin. A firm opponent of the Nazi regime. Participated in the Polish Campaign. Working in the War Ministry, together with Count von Moltke organized Kreysau group. He was arrested after the failure of the July 1944 conspiracy and the sentence of the People's Tribunal, executed August 8, 1944.
