Ernst von Harnack (Harnack)

Harnack, Ernst von (Harnack), (1888-1945), politician and statesman of Germany, the Social - Democrat. Born July 15, 1888 in Berlin, in a religious family historian. He studied at the University of Marburg. Participant 1 WWI. To 1933 he held various positions in the Prussian government. After the Nazis came to power Harnack took part in the resistance movement. He was arrested after the failure of the July 1944 conspiracy and the sentence of the People's Tribunal, executed on 3 March 1945.
