Biography DAVID VIII
David VIII (1293-1311). After the death of Vakhtang Khan approved in Tbilisi king's eldest son Demetre II - David VIII. In 1295 as a result of a fierce struggle for power in the state came Ilhanskom Hasan Khan. Hasan Khan was summoned to David, who supported his opponent, but David strengthened in Mtiuleti. Khan tried to captivate him, but to no avail. Then the Mongols in 1299 in Tbilisi put the king's younger brother David - George V. George V was still a minor and could not govern. Therefore, the Mongols David VIII countered his second brother Vakhtang III. However, the agreement established between the brothers and David VIII established in Javakheti.
