Alexey Lyapunov

Lyapunov Alexei Andreyevich (1911-73), Russia mathematician, corresponding member of USSR (1964). Author of works on set theory, mathematical problems of cybernetics, mathematical linguistics.

One of the first domestic scientists, assessed the significance of cybernetics. Under his leadership, began the first in our country work on cybernetics. Lyapunov created the first training program and developed an operator method of programming. Laid the foundations of machine translation and mathematical linguistics, biological cybernetics and mathematical methods in biology
