Biography Kondrashin Kirill Petrovich
Kondrashin, Kirill Petrovich (1914-1981), Russian conductor. Born in Moscow on February 21 (6 March) 1914. He graduated in 1936 Moscow Conservatory conducting B. Khaikin. Since 1934 he has been assistant conductor in the Musical Theater V.I.Nemirovicha-Danchenko, from 1937 worked as a conductor of the Leningrad Maly Opera Theater. In 1943 he was invited to Moscow's Bolshoi Theater, where he successfully worked for 13 years. Since 1938 Kondrashin conducted regular concerts, led by Moscow Youth Symphony Orchestra. In 1956, leaving the theater, became conductor of the itinerant-, worked with various orchestras in the capital and peripheral. In 1958 I conducted the Tchaikovsky International Competition, in particular, played with Venom Cliburn, then received an invitation to tour in the U.S. and the UK. In 1960-1978 headed the Moscow Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra. It was the first performer in Russia of many works of Russian and foreign composers, under his control were premiered on the Fourth and Thirteenth symphonies, .
