Biography William Styron
Styron, William (Styron, William) (p. 1925), American writer. Born June 11, 1925 in Newport-News (ea. Virginia). During the Second World War he served in the Marines. He graduated in 1997 at Duke University in Durham (pc. North Carolina). Styron's first novel "lie down in darkness" (Lie Down in Darkness, 1951), which was set in his native state, is painful reflection on the causes of suicide father's daughter. The novel has received an award in Rome. Message to the author's stream of consciousness technique showed the impact of William Faulkner and T. Wolfe. The theme of the story "Long March" (The Long March, 1952) was the brutal military discipline. The basis of the novel and set fire to the house "(Set This House on Fire, 1960), drawing a life of American expatriate in Italy, became the author's impressions of his stay in Italy in the early 1950's

In his first best-selling book - the novel "Sophie's Choice" (Sophie's Choice, . 1979) - Styron explores the nature of evil, . talking about the relationship of a young writer, a southerner from the U.S. intellectual, .
