People's Artist of the RSFSR (1954). Studied at St. Petersburg College in A. A. Oblakova, L. I. Vans, E. O. Vazem, X. P. Johanson, P. A. Gerdt. In 1897 he was enrolled at the end of the Mariinsky corps de ballet.
