Russia and Pakistan together will support a resolution of the standoff in Yemen diplomatic, not military means, said head of the Ministry of defense of Pakistan, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, who arrived in the capital of Russia to the conference on security.
last week Pakistani deputies approved a draft decision, stating that Pakistan is obliged to be neutral on the issue of the Yemeni conflict. First, Saudi Arabia has urged Pakistan to join the coalition and send troops, warships and aircraft to participate in hostilities in Yemen.
"We agreed to increase our diplomatic efforts to solve regional issues, the most in conflicts in the middle East, the Persian Gulf and Yemen. Military operations will not solve the conflict, diplomacy must be given a chance, most in Yemen, the conflict must be resolved through diplomatic efforts, " said Muhammad Asif reporters after talks with Russian defense Minister army General Sergei Shoigu.
according to his statement, during the negotiations with Shoigu, both sides stressed that to address the fall in Yemen has to be found a peaceful solution.
"We hope to expand Russia's role in achieving peace in the region," added the Pakistani Minister.
