More than 16,000 counterfeit discs destroyed in Russia?s Far East
At least 16,000 counterfeit DVDs have been destroyed in the city of Blagoveschensk in Russia?s Far East. It`s the biggest number of pirate copies destroyed at any one time. The discs were crushed under the tracks of a 50-tonne tank.
The DVDs were seized during a police raid in September last year and declared fake by the Russian Anti-piracy Commission.
The owner of the business selling the counterfeits was put on probation for three years.
