Gazprom and ENI discuss " Turkish stream "
MOSCOW, Jun 9 - RIA Novosti/Prime. The head of "Gazprom" Alexey Miller and General Manager of the Italian concern ENI Claudio Descalzi discussed the project "Turkish stream" and the prospects of increasing the capacity of the gas pipeline "Blue stream," according to the report " Gazprom ".
The meeting was held in Milan. The sides considered issues of cooperation in the gas sector and gas supplies from Russia to the European Union, for example, in Italy.
"Turkish stream" involves the construction of a gas pipeline with a capacity of 63 billion cubic meters of gas per year from Russia to Turkey across the Black sea. The pipeline with a length of about 1,100 kilometers will consist of 4 strands and bring to the Turkish-Greek border to 47 billion cubic meters of gas. It is planned that on the border of Turkey and Greece gas hub will be created, and EU countries are obliged on their own to implement gas transmission capacities for the further reception of this gas on its territory.
currently Russia transports gas to Turkey through the pipeline " Blue stream ", laid under the Black sea, and the TRANS-Balkan gas pipeline through Ukraine. Russia and Turkey have agreed to increase capacity of Blue stream from 16 to 19 billion cubic meters per year. From pumping gas through Ukraine Russia wants to opt out after 2019, after the existing transit contract.
in 2014, Gazprom exported to Turkey 27, 4 billion cubic meters of gas.
