Vaclav Klaus: the expulsion of Russia from Europe will be a tragic mistake

Russia and the West, despite differences, can not break off relations with each other, and their conflict is completely unnatural, says the former head of the Czech Republic Vaclav Klaus. About this he said at the meeting in St. Petersburg.

"It would be a tragic mistake today to oust Russia from Europe. Russia deserves a chance to determine my new story, discover your own path and be an active player in the international arena. The tragic situation in Ukraine, I think the internal Ukrainian problem, not the problem of Ukrainian-Russian relations or the West and Russia, " said Klaus.

Former Czech President also drew the attention that it upsets the " new era of confrontation between the West and the East, most importantly between the West and Russia." We have to struggle, to fight the old and irrelevant wars. We cannot accept the current interpretation, artificial, not naturally developed conflict between the West and Russia as standoff 2 from the outset, different political, socio-economic and cultural (if not religious) systems, as it Was in the Soviet Union ", - said Klaus.
