Ivanov: Russia is open to cooperation with the United States in the battle against drug trafficking
Russia is open to cooperation with the United States in the battle against drug trafficking from Afghanistan, said Thursday the head of the Russian Council on international Affairs, former Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov.
"End user (Afghan narcotic substances - ed.) is a country located tens of thousand kilometers, and among them the U.S. and Europe, and, unfortunately, Russia. For this reason, Russia - yesterday the head (Vladimir) Putin in conversation with (former President of Afghanistan Hamid) Karzai has said it is open to interaction (USA). Yes, we have disagreements, let's say, around the Ukrainian fall, but this does not hinder our cooperation in other regions ", - said Ivanov.
