Smirnov: danger of Kiev to block the Crimean Tatar TV violate the right
Reason to lock the satellite broadcasting of a new Crimean Tatar TV channel "millet" ( "people" ) in the territory of Ukraine is not, and all such dangers violate international standards, said the head of the state Committee of the Crimean government on Affairs of international relations and the deported people Zaur Smirnov.
New Crimean Tatar TV channel starts broadcasting in September, while the new year is expected to reach satellite broadcasting, which will allow to bring objective data, as well as among them Ukraine, Central Asian countries and Turkey. In the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine has told, that the issue of broadcasting via satellite in question, and on his appearance in cable networks of Ukraine has the possibility to be banned.
"We are clearly within the law and all international conventions that determine the frequency and capacity of air, for this reason there are no no bans. The Ukrainian authorities are going to have political blackmail, which violates international standards, as well as the right to participation and information dissemination, " said Smirnov.
He considers it possible that the Ukrainian side will try to block the right channel satellite broadcasting, putting pressure on the European satellite organization.
"This is an attempt to put pressure on international institutions that deal with broadcasting, as well as among them in the Crimea. The Ukrainian authorities have developed a great fear and panic that the television channel "millet" to be broadcast via satellite to all Ukraine and break the information space, which is now misleading the citizens of Ukraine. But We will provide broadcasting, in spite of all the danger " - said Smirnov.
Public Crimean Tatar broadcasting company, which includes the television channel "millet" and radio "Vatan sedasy" ( "Voice of the Motherland") was established on June 9 instead of a private TV channel ATR and radio Meydan, which are unable to be re-registered. To support broadcasting company from the state budget of the Russian Federation in the Crimea has already received 177 million.
