Suicide bombing kills two police in south Afghanistan
At least two policemen were killed and 10 injured in a suicide bombing outside an administrative building in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, the local police chief said on Wednesday.
The militant detonated an explosive vest outside the entrance to the Arghandab district administration.
A district police chief was among those killed. Some of the wounded are in a critical condition.
Taliban militants have increased their activity in Afghanistan ahead of the presidential elections scheduled for August 20. In response, the Afghan army and NATO have launched a military operation in southern Afghanistan to provide additional security.
