Discovery shuttle successfully lands in California
The Discovery shuttle has successfully landed at the Edwards Air Force Base in California after being unable to touch down in Florida due to bad weather, NASA said.
"Space shuttle Discovery and its seven-member crew landed at 8:53 p.m. EDT Friday at Edwards Air Force Base in California," the agency said.
The Discovery docked with the ISS late on August 31, delivering more than seven tons of cargo, including the Leonardo supply module, and a new crew member. Three spacewalks were performed during the mission.
The shuttle carried ISS flight engineer Nicole Stott to the station, and brought home U.S. Army Colonel Timothy Kopra.
