Alec Baldwin will quit acting in 2012
The `Hunt For Red October star plans to retire from the industry once his contract for hit US TV show `30 Rock` expires as he no longer has the passion for it.
The 51-year-old actor said: "I don`t have any interest in acting anymore. I`m not young, but I have time to do something else."
Alec - who is set to co-host next year`s Academy Awards with Steve Martin - also claims his movie career has been a flop because he hasn?t been a huge box-office success.
Alec - who has starred in `The Departed` and `Glengarry Glen Ross` - told Men`s Journal magazine: "I consider my entire movie career a complete failure. The goal of moviemaking is to star in a film where your performance drives the film, and the film is either a soaring critical or commercial success, and I never had that."
Alec recently revealed he isn`t nervous about hosting the Academy Awards because he believes there are higher expectations on Steve, who has fronted the Oscars before.
He quipped: "It is all on Steve. Steve Martin has done this before, while for me it is the first time. All the pressure is on Steve Martin."
